Dance is an Immortal Art for the Mortals
For over three decades, my journey as a dancer has been a profound exploration of movement, culture, and artistry. It was 35 years ago that I first stepped into the world of Indian Classical dance, with the blessings of my dance guru's Late.Guru. Ravi Sharma, (Bharatnatyam) Late.Guru. Arun Chandiwale, (Folk and Kathak) Late.Guru.Vasantrao Ghatge. Along with my past Guru Priyanka Shinde & present Guru. Rajashree Tai Oak immersing myself in the intricate rhythms and storytelling of Bharatanatyam and the graceful elegance of Kathak. These classical forms became the foundation of my craft, teaching me discipline, precision, and the power of expression through dance.
As my passion deepened, I ventured beyond the classical realm, drawn to the vibrant tapestry of India’s ethnic and tribal communities. This exposure opened my eyes to the rich diversity of Indian Folk Dance traditions, each with its own unique history, rhythm, and cultural significance. From the energetic beats of Bhangra to the soulful movements of Garba, I embraced these styles, weaving them into my artistic repertoire.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of transforming this knowledge and experience into captivating stage performances. By blending the structured elegance of classical dance with the raw, earthy energy of folk traditions, I have created a distinctive style that celebrates the unity and diversity of Indian dance. Each performance is a tribute to the stories, traditions, and communities that have shaped my journey, offering audiences a glimpse into the soul of India’s dance heritage.
Through my work, I strive to honor the past while innovating for the future, ensuring that these timeless art forms continue to inspire and resonate with new generations. Dance, for me, is not just a passion—it is a lifelong commitment to preserving and sharing the beauty of India’s cultural legacy.
